~Raising ADGA Alpine Dairy Goats in Florence, Texas~
We are located about 50 minutes north of Austin and about 20 minutes south of Killeen.
We began raising ADGA registered Alpine dairy goats in 2009 when our friends helped get us started. Our first goats were two pregnant Alpine does. We enjoyed seeing them grow and kid soon after we got them. Now, our herd has grown to more than 10 Alpine dairy goats, and we welcome new kids each year.
-We CAE test our entire herd yearly using ELISA testing through Biotracking, and have always been free of CL and other diseases, like soremouth. We have always been tested CAE negative with our goats, since our start with dairy goats in 2009.
-Our goats are fed alfalfa and coastal hay, a 12/8 grain, and are given Replamin Plus gel, weekly, for their vitamins and minerals.
-We also bottle-feed all of our kids from birth, and raise them to be friendly, healthy, and ready to be future milkers, herd sires, or companions.
-We raise all of our kids on strict coccidiosis prevention starting when they turn 3 weeks, and continue until they are sold; we also vaccinate and deworm when needed.
-All of our kids are disbudded soon after birth.
